JW's having kids
by Tigerman inthis is a simply question that came to me as i sit here reading all the various topics and their responses and i my mind often takes me back to a question that came to me some time ago.
simply put; why have jw's continued to have children .
.since the beginning - 1912,1918,1925 and so on if the end was coming in their lifetime .

Since Richies Shown Elders Have Been Told To Destroy Pedophile Elders Files
by wanda inhi, especially so to the watchtower posers whom i hope are capable of reading this as they gnash their teeth and their eyes go wild with fear.
the more the watchtower posers say to be quiet, act "delicate," or forget it and the more they try to laugh it off, the more other people become fired up to expose them.
it was easy to predict that what richie has put on the internet and that has now gone earthwide would occur.

The only way it would be somewhat admissable is if you had a couple elders/ex-elders who could get on a stand and say, "yes, this is my copy of the elders manual, and yes these notes written here were written by me as I was told to do so at KM school on <date, place>."
Then of course, for each of these elders, who ideally are from different parts of the country/don't know each other, get another elder who was also at the school on the stand, make him open up his copy of the elder manual, see what is written there. Good luck getting this second elder to a)admit he was at the school, b) present his elders manual for inspection c) even get on the witness stand.

Little House was a classic although it seems a little syrupy looking back on it now. We only got one channel back then, it was one of the better shows on NBC. (Although who can forget Supertrain???)And Melissa Gilbert became a darn good looking woman.
My real reason for posting though, does anyone else see a couple odd grey boxes on this page? I don't know if its supposed to be an image or what, and it affects Firefox and IE 6. Very Strange...

The Ori of Stargate
by Balsam inhave any of you been following the true path of the ori on the stargate show on scifi channel.
how the ori intend to destroy all the unbelievers through out all the universe's.
fundamentalist type religions like jw's, muslims, and other such fanantical religious ideas certainly are represented by such science fiction stories.

Welcome HockeyMullet!
Yes Auset is the primo contact for the northern MN apostates(although she of course always wears a suitable head covering when acting in a official capacity ;)
I grew up in central MN, but I do know a few folks from further north.
If you ever get to the Twin Cities, look me up.

Help!!!!! How do I get out of vacation?
by collegegirl21 inokay, so spring break is coming up soon.
i just got off of the phone with my jw mother (i'm still in the religion), and i found out that although i'm in college and was planning on going somwhere else for my spring break, that i now have to go down to memphis, tn with her, my dad and my 2 non-believing aunts and 1 non-believing uncle in an suv from wisconsin.
i then have to stay with them for 5 days while my granddad and my mom fight over scriptures (my granddad is a 7th day adventist) and do nothing.

Well collegegirl there are several ways to handle this:
1. Totally refuse to live a lie. No going to meetings, no going in field service period. Ethically this is wonderful, but the consequences could be unpleasant.
2. Theocratic warfare: attend the meetings, try not to barf or display any facial expressions that may be construed as critical of the fine spiritual food being served. The safe choice, although it can be challenging and requires a fair degree of acting ability.
3. Baffle them with pure truth. For example, this could be your presentation at the door:
You: Hi! We are going door to door selling these magazines to people, and to let you know that our religion is better than yours and if you want to survive you need to join us.
Note that this presentation is simple, and can be used even if you are not familar with the contents of the current magazines you are using. Another example, making conversation after the meeting:
You: That talk was a joke. Any of my professors would have been embarrassed to give a lecture that dull. I'm sure glad I only have to come here a couple times a year when my parents drag me here.
Now I like option 3, its honest and yet you are trying to be flexible and at least try to please your parents. They will no doubt appreciate your willingness to meet them halfway like this, while respecting you for taking a stand.

by No Apologies inok, i am looking for someone i knew way back when, but i don't want to just blurt a name out, for obvious reasons... this person grew up in minnesota in the same congregation i did, she is probably late 40's- early 50's?
